European Commission

The European Commission is preparing for the next multiannual financial framework (MFF), the EU's long-term budget, which will start in 2028. Following President von der Leyen's Political Guidelines for the 2024-2029 European Commission, the Commission aims to create a simpler, more focused, and responsive budget that reflects European strategic priorities. To achieve this, seven public consultations are launched to gather views from interested parties on how to make the most of the EU budget.
One of the consultations covers EU funds supporting cross-border education, training and solidarity, young people, media, culture, and creative sectors, values, and civil society.

AI in educational contexts

The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) is the largest long-term educational study in Germany. In seven initial cohorts, the skills development and educational trajectories of a total of over 70,000 participants are monitored - from early childhood to old age. In addition, around 50,000 people from their environment, such as parents and educational professionals, are surveyed.

NEPS now calls on researchers outside the NEPS network to submit proposals for new survey modules. Proposals are wanted on the topic “AI-based systems in educational contexts: Motives for use, knowledge, trust”.
The deadline for submitting a short outline is October 30, 2025.
