The Albanian Occupational Safety and Health Centre (AOSHC) is acting in the field of occupational safety and health based on the Albanian legislation. It is focused on the general and specific issues of occupational safety and health, for developing effective programs in Albania for protection of employees through providing theoretical and practical knowledge and specialized expertise.
AOSHC is a partner in the project "Enhance Labour conditions and Occupational Safety and Health as a support to the Countries from the Western Balkan toward accessing European Union" and engaged in several activities in collaboration with ILO to support OSH in Albania and Bosnia.

During 2020, the structure of the State Inspectorate of Labour and Social Services (SLISS) was revised with the establishment of a new Department of Risk Assessment. Further steps should be taken to strengthen the capacities of the SLISS when it comes to human resources, regular training and adequate means, including vehicles, to perform duties and to enhance coordination with social partners for proper enforcement and monitoring of the occupational health and safety legislation in place and to promote decent work.
