Occupational safety is taught in training programmes for actors from the viewpoint of being on stage. Students majoring in directing have a course on stage technique and safety. The methods used in the teaching process are derived from the traditions of Estonian theatre and other European schools. The staff are experienced and willing to pass on their expertise to younger generations. One of the courses that addresses the key elements is Stage Management and Theatrical Safety Regulations, and provides training on the following: introduction to contemporary stage management on the basis of theatres, speciality literature and catalogues; set construction; materials used in stage design; fire-safety requirements; and stage-safety requirements.
