In a truly active school, more must happen than just increased physical activity among the students: it is about activating inner movement, because inner movement precedes outer movement.
This movement must reach everyone: teachers, students, parents and, in particular, the organizational system.
Active School corresponds to the resource-oriented and salutogenic approach of the World Health Organization (WHO), which is based on a very comprehensive concept of health and aims to promote the ability of each individual to maintain and strengthen their well-being.
Characteristics of the Moving School:
- Rhythmization of lessons that is appropriate for children, teachers and learners
- active and moving as well as independent learning with a variety of methods
- The quality and quantity of the compulsory subject "Physical Activity and Sports" are guaranteed. Active School is not a substitute for BSP classes!
- moving and moving breaks
- Designing the school environment for contemporary teaching methods
- Designing the school environment for a successful all-day school that encourages physical activity
- Dissolution of the rigid 50-minute units through school-internal solutions
- Opening the school to the outside world (parents, community, clubs, environment)
- Participation of all those involved in school life
- Raising awareness of the concerns of teachers (teacher health) and the overall system
