The programme offers awards such as a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) and National Certificate awards (NC). The main difference to the Standard Grades is that instead of being entirely classroom based and assessed by exams, VQ’s are delivered and assessed in a work context. The main thrust is to equip young people with real work skills.
