In March 2001 all partners of the projects agreed on a 3-year-pilot programme, setting themselves five objectives to fulfil during this time. 1) to set up an extended partnership with representatives of both public and local authorities, and local companies. 2) to engage a number of schools in the project on a voluntary basis to be inspected by a team of experts for possible dangerous defects or potential causes of accidents. 3) to develop experienced task forces among the teachers to act as training facilitators in schools. 4) to motivate parents and society at large to support the development of a preventing accidents mentality. 5) to make FAOS self-sustaining and extend its use and the support for it.
