The „check it out“ video package provides insight into the place of work. The video can be used in a number of ways. The Video includes three main components: 20 minute video, an information pack for teachers, and pupil exercises (handout sheets). The video documents four school pupils during their experiences at different workplaces (hairdressing, restaurant, music, printing industries). In this sequences a range of hazards pupils might faced with (e.g. chemicals, falls and manual handling). The film shows risks activities and what could be done to avoid them. It also portrays possible relationships between employer and employees and the role of health and safety. The information pack includes suggested teaching approaches, lesson plans and lesson resources. Furthermore six exercise sheets for pupils are offered.
