Artificial intelligence (AI) is central to a profound transformation of our society and the “fourth industrial revolution”.
AI technology is constantly evolving and the FPS BOSA is closely monitoring this via AI4Belgium: a coalition that it coordinates and that brings together AI players from public services, the private sector, academia and civil society, experts and non-experts.
The AI Act defines an AI system as: “a machine-based system that is designed to operate with varying levels of autonomy and that, once deployed, can exhibit adaptive capabilities, and that, for explicit or implicit purposes, infers from inputs received how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations or decisions that can affect physical or virtual environments” .
The AI4Belgium coalition longs to animate the Belgian ecosystem of AI players from academia, public sector, private sector and civil society, stimulate and support synergies with the federated entities, contribute to putting Belgium, including its regions, on the European and international AI map and provide input for the monitoring of the national convergence plan and the reflection on the strategy at the various levels of authority.
