ENETOSH Standard 2007
Quality assurance for teachers of occupational safety and health in Europe
The Standard of Competence for Instructors and Trainers in Safety and Health was developed by the ENETOSH project, based on a study by the Berufsgenossenschafts concerning a common lecturer profile for the BG’s education centres in Germany. The development work was carried out using the categories and descriptors set out in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). As well as describing general trainer competences, the standard covers specialist competences in the areas of occupational safety and health, workplace health promotion and OSH management. The ENETOSH Standard of Competence has been recognised by 14 institutions from 10 European countries and is available in 11 languages. The standard is a recommendation and can be used by educational institutions for staff recruitment or professional development for teachers. Since April 2008, an empirical study had been underway in cooperation with Dresden Technical University to evolve the ENETOSH Standard of Competence further.
