The Authority develops and carries out EU supported international projects, participates in a range of EU Council expert meetings in Brussels, organises its activities subject to EU requirements, introduces a new attitude to the idea of lifelong education and promotes the development of human resources. By taking part in international projects, Authority specialists accumulate experience of foreign countries, which will help them to integrate more smoothly into the space of EU vocational training. Among the Authority’s partners are Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and other countries.

EU membership has provided Lithuania with the opportunity to use structural funds for the creation of necessary and the improvement of existing vocational training schemes ensuring the response of qualifications to the needs of the labour market, their recognition and quality training.

The major projects of national importance currently carried out are the following: the Development of the National Qualifications Framework, the Development and Introduction of Vocational Guidance Framework and the Development and Introduction of the Joint Framework for Ensuring the Quality of Initial and Continuous Vocational Training etc.
