The 50+ generation has a life background totally different to our modern world:
  • born around WW 2nd
  • Prague spring '68 when reaching 20
  • families in '70s - characterised by
    "normalization"
  • being 40 when new career opportunities
    arise (the Velvet revolution '89)
  • being 50 when globalisation deeply
    touches our country

Because of this, the employees of this generation have to start a "Third Career", need to deal with the changes in this globalized world:
  • Fast changes
  • Short cycles of the innovation
  • Project management leads
  • Individualized and targeted marketing creates appelative situations
  • Fast changes require fast decisions
  • Competition
  • New products delivered in weeks
  • Suppliers and customers do not care about the distance
  • Working power crossing the borders
  • EU - a unification of Europe
  • EC priority makes changes in our lives and opportunities

This training programme, consisting of 4 modules, helps employees to start this "Third Career".

This programme has two target groups. Firstly personnel managers and directors are offered an advisory service on how to develop changes in the corporate process which are geared to the 50+, furthermore employees 50+ of the middle management receive a revitalization course on the following 4 modules:

NOW
The challenges of globalization in the working environment are the subject of the first module, "NOW". The consequences for work, private life, and the role of managers aged 50+ are addressed. Further issues such as initiative and vision are raised.

GET READY
The second module, "GET READY", answers the questions "What do I need?", "What is my role?", and "Where are my resources?". We hold talks on the subjects of health, financial management, and career planning. We also believe that people aged over 50 are particularly equipped to be coaches. For this reason, the programme also contains part of a course for training individuals as coaches.

GO
With the third module, "GO", we support the process of change. The main topics here are change management, personal presentation, introspection and coaching. We have also integrated a "mental training course" into this module. This element contains exercises for memory training, creativity, etc.

WATCH BACK
In the fourth module, "WATCH BACK", the participants present a review of their course. They have an opportunity to reflect on progress made in training.

The participants are surveyed at the beginning, during and at the end of the revitalization course. The interviews last for one hour and are conducted by lecturers on the training programme, together with a psychologist.

Speakers from 8 European countries presented good practice examples from ENETOSH of how occupational safety and health can be mainstreamed into education and training in different phases of life, from kindergarten children over teenagers to the elder worker.
Approximately 60 participants from 11 European countries benefited from the event in terms of learning new and innovative methods, the exchange of experience among experts and the establishment of international contacts.
