Safe Work in Construction 2005
This program was organised by The National Labour Inspectorate (PIP) in the years 2004 – 2005 to widen the knowledge of people employed in construction sector about safety by organising seminars, open days, and presentations.
Open days organised all over the country – presentations of safe constructions, personal protective equipment, meetings, and seminars for representatives of trade unions and employers of construction sector, competitions for the young and programs in schools for construction sector. Every irregularities and dangers noticed in building sites could have been reported to specialized work inspectors. Competition for building sites with the safest conditions organized in the Pomorskie Voivodship for employers – performers of building work. Building contractors who recognized and eliminated hazards in building site (listed by The National Labour Inspectorate) received PIP diploma. Special trainings for employers of construction sector, social work inspectors and small investors organized by work inspectorates.
The aim of this project was to draw attention of employers to the problem of safety in building sites, increase their knowledge about safety and health protection and to decrease the number of accidents in construction sector.
Above 1000 employers, construction engineers, foremen, and chief engineers were trained.About 2000 students took part in meetings with work inspectors.About 300 constructions made effort to receive PIP diploma.32 seminars took place.Work inspectors gave 856 decisions among which 64 stopped building work.
