The BKK-BV, the federal association of company health insurance funds, is the umbrella organisation of the company health insurance funds (BKKs), over 200 in number, and their eight regional associations. With over 14.8 million insured persons, the BKKs are the third-largest and also the oldest form of insurance fund within the German statutory health insurance system. The objectives of the BKK-BV's activity are successful representation of the company health insurance funds' common interests, the promotion of strategic cooperation within the company health insurance system, and at the same time the provision of effective instruments and user-oriented services for the individual funds.

The BKK-BV has been appointed national liaison office of the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP).

The European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP) was founded in 1996 and is a network of European OSH institutions, health promotion institutions, and statutory social insurance bodies. The objective of the ENWHP is the improvement of working conditions in Europe. Through a range of joint initiatives, it develops good practice for various organisation types, and creates infrastructures for health promotion within the territory of the European Union. Through a number of fora and national networks, the ENWHP facilitates the cross-border exchange of information and expertise. It maintains national liaison offices in 23 different countries.

The objective is for the networks of ENETOSH and ENWHP to be networked on a practical working level, for instance through joint activities in the area of vocational education.
