The external evaluation consisted of an analysis of the dissemination, implementation and sustainability of results. Based upon an evaluation design involving measurements at multiple points in the course of the project and upon its completion, data were gathered by means of multiple recording methods.

A written survey supplemented by interviews was to check the extent to which the results of the network group are communicated to and taken advantage of by outside parties, and to what degree the results found their way into specific innovative approaches in education and training.

For this purpose a panel design had been drafted with three target groups: core network partners, intermediaries and end users from three different areas (OSH, Education, Politics).

This design required each project partner to provide contacts from intermediaries and end users in these three areas. The aim was to have a total of 585 contacts within this panel. A sample was taken from that amount for further investigation.

A preliminary standardised poll of the project partners was conducted in October 2005 and interviews were conducted with all project partners. Based upon this internal evaluation, descriptors have been defined for the external evaluation.

Relevant criteria:
  • An effective web site
  • EU-wide links to the Internet platform
  • Successful collection of high-quality examples of good practice in Europe
  • Sustainability of the project (national and Europe-wide, number of project members increases, continuation of the project beyond 2007)
  • Number of trained coaches will increase, coaches and training course are certified
Participation in the evaluation

Interested parties in the areas of OSH, education and politics were offered the opportunity to participate in the evaluation of the ENETOSH project.

As part of the evaluation, they were asked to answer questions at three stages of the ENETOSH project, enabling them to have an impact on the project’s development.

The participants evaluated…
  • the acceptance of the project results of ENETOSH in their field of work (e.g. OSH, education and training, politics)
  • the usefulness of the project results for their field of work (e.g. OSH, education and training, politics)
  • the distribution of the project results in the areas of OSH, education and training and politics.
The final report on the evaluation of the ENETOSH project can be obtained from the coordinator, the Institute Work and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
