Network, Good Practice & Standards
Development of a joint standard of competence for teachers in occupational safety and health in EuropeENETOSH’s special focus is on the improvement of the qualification of teachers, lecturers and trainers as the determining factor for the quality of education and training in OSH. Well-qualified teachers are key to developing a culture of prevention in Europe. They need appropriate competences to ensure the transfer of knowledge about safety and health, to promote changes of attitudes and behaviour in children and adults regarding their own safety and health and to foster the establishment of a safety & health culture in schools and at other workplaces.
Taking its lead from the recent debate on the European Qualification Framework (EQF) held by ministers of education and training, European social partners and the European Commission, ENETOSH is working on competence profiles for teachers and trainers in OSH .
In the course of the ENETOSH-project a standard of competence for instructors and trainers in Europe was developed. The standard is being continuously evolved in collaboration with Dresden Technical University.
