¡A salvo! (Safe)
A Project by the Government of Castilla y León
The campaign was carried out in three phases:
    | Bild: |
  • development of a range of teaching materials in a trolley suitcase;
  • creation of a web portal;
  • a publicity campaign including a travelling show using an articulated, full-length bus that covered the nine provinces of Castilla y León.
This included multimedia, a plasma TV screen, game panels, furniture and display cabinets with campaign materials and telephone. Next to the “¡A salvo!” Bus!, a 6 metres high, inflatable balloon with the mascot’s image was set up along with a tent where “Salva”, the mobile Mascot (an entertainer), received the students. The learning materials are original and well-designed and awareness raising activities are fun and effective.

The campaign was directed at over 118,000 students registered in primary education for the school year 2005-06. The project and materials were designed to be used over several years, so that the resulting cost per child is estimated to be less than 3.5 euros.
This example targets a wide range of people, including 118.000 students from nine Spanish regional educational communities, their teachers and parents, policy makers, occupational safety and health experts and public institutions.
