In October 2005, ENETOSH was launched at the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) in Bilbao. On the occasion of its 10th Anniversary, ENETOSH returned to Bilbao. The highlight of the 2015 ENETOSH events in Bilbao was the Joint Workshop on Mainstreaming OSH into Education: Sharing Knowledge for Global Prevention on 15 – 16 October. The workshop was organised by a team of colleagues from ENETOSH, EU-OSHA, ILO, ISSA and NIOSH. 45 participants from four continents attended the event in Bilbao.
For the second time, a joint workshop on mainstreaming OSH into education was conducted by ENETOSH, EU-OSHA, ILO, ISSA and NIOSH. As part of the 10th Anniversary of ENETOSH, EU-OSHA invited the group to its premises at Miribilla, a totally new district in Bilbao built on the top of an old mining facility.

In her opening speech, the Director of EU-OSHA, Christa Sedlatschek, talked about the original idea of developing ENETOSH within the context of EU-OSHA and outlined the work that has been done so far to mainstream OSH into education. She also spoke about the future work plans of EU-OSHA and the importance of including the issue of mainstreaming.

The event was moderated by Steve Horvath, CEO of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety.

A total of 45 experts from Europe (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Romania, Spain, Switzerland), America (Canada, USA), Africa (Ivory Coast, Morocco, Nigeria) and Asia (Singapore) came together to learn about the commonalities and differences of OSH education and training in their countries. The expert group consisted of representatives from the policy fields of OSH, public health and education.
