Lighten the load
A campaign of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work
| Bild: |
The European campaign aims to promote an integrated management approach to tackle musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) embracing prevention of MSDs, and the retention, rehabilitation and reintegration of workers who already suffer from MSDs. Run by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, the Lighten the load campaign involves employers, workers, workers' safety representatives, practitioners, preventive services, policy makers and other stakeholders in improving MSD prevention at workplace level.
This can be a good occasion for teachers and trainers to focus this problem at all levels of education and training: Carrying out projects at school, rising awareness among apprentices, confrontating students at university level with MSD and dealing with this topic during training at the workplace.
The campaign culminates in the European Week of Safety and Health at Work from 22 to 26 October 2007, and is an opportunity to make Europe's workplaces safer and healthier.

Glossary
A new service for our visitors
By the very kind permission of the University of Bologna in Forlì, we can offer a new feature to the users of the ENETOSH platform: a mulitlingual glossary. As the platform is in English, visitors might have problems to know all the English technical terms concerning occupational health and safety. The glossary of the EOHS (Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety terminology website), where these terms are translated into Italian, French and German, may be a great help using the ENETOSH platform. Especially teachers and trainers, who use the platform as a database of knowlegde and ideas for their own work, may find the glossary helpful for exploring the projects and for communication with each other.
The glossary can be found here.
